Eventually, I moved to Athens, where I created a small ceramics studio in my home. It became a place to make my own pieces, but also to share what I had learned by giving lessons. What began as a desire to make candles slowly became something much larger. I still find myself drawn to the same idea that started it all: creating objects that hold light, bring warmth into a space, and carry something of the hands that made them.

When I moved back to Brussels, I joined Éloïse Bonehill's studio, where I became a resident and continued developing my practice. Then life took an unexpected turn. A horse-riding accident left me with a broken vertebra and brought me back to my parents' home in the countryside. During my recovery, ceramics became part of my everyday life. I spent hours working with clay, surrounded by nature, with time to experiment, make mistakes, and begin again.

CERAMICS

creating connections between ideas, emotions,  and visuals, and turning them into   an identity that feels recognizable                      and alive

My relationship with ceramics began with a simple idea: I wanted to make my own candles and bring a little more light into my new home in Tel Aviv. I found my way to Betceramics, where I discovered the pottery wheel and, quite unexpectedly, a new way of spending my time. I could sit there for hours, completely absorbed in the movement of the clay, learning to work with my hands and finding joy in the process.

I am Céline. I am from Belgium and was born to a Greek family. and I think that partially explains my eagerness for life, my love for joy, and my attraction to beauty and light.

I started ceramics simply because I wanted to create my own candles. Clay was the obvious medium through which that idea could exist. And when I lit my candles for the first time, something I had made with my own hands reflected something back to me: my time, my attention, my growing skills, and the joy it gave me along the way. And I found beauty there too : in the fact that the light of my candles was a quiet dialogue between what I had created and what the act of creating made me feel.

And I feel kind of the same feeling when I put light on people's stories.

DIMITRA

Milan Kundera once wrote that a life is composed the way music is, that we take what happens to us by chance and turn it into a motif, a note that returns and gives shape to everything after it. Without even realizing it, he said, we build our lives according to laws of beauty. I think this is why I love branding. It's not so different from what he described, taking moments, ordinary details, stories, and finding the note that runs through them. I like to put light on a story, with poetry, and give it a shape it didn't quite have before. Not inventing something new, just helping people see the motif that was already there.

when it comes to my story, i like to think that light is its motif, the metaphorical thread that ties my roots and my freedom : light is what lets you see where you come from, and it is also what draws you forward, toward wherever you're going next.
